Welcome to The Deaf Action Center

The Deaf Action Center serves people who are deaf and hard of hearing with a comprehensive range of services.

People of all ages participate at different levels in a variety of programs that combine commitment, caring, competence and communication in a special blend, fostering success in personal, social and professional growth. Our mission is the elimination of barriers to persons who are deaf or hard of hearing.

 

Do you need an interpreter?

The Deaf Action Center offers 24/7 interpreting services. To request an interpreter, please email: interpretingdept@yahoo.com or please click on the follow link to find our interpreting request form. All you have to do is fill out the form, print it, and fax the form to our interpreting department at 214-521-3658. You will be notified about your request.

DACVRS - Video Relay Service

is a new service that is all about providing you with the best possible relay. It is Fast and Easy.

  1. DACVRS.TV - Video Relay Service: With DACVRS, you can call any hearing person - and any hearing person can call you.
  2. VCO.DACVRS.TV - Voice Carry Over: Voice Carry-Over (VCO) is a service for deaf and hard of hearing persons who prefer to speak directly to the hearing caller while viewing the video interpreter.
  3. SPANISH.DACVRS.TV: Communicate with a hearing Spanish speaker. With Spanish VRS a video interpreter will translate between sign and spoken Spanish

 

 

SENIOR SUMMER AT DAC

For those of you 55 and older, Deaf Action Center invites you to visit our Senior Citizen Center, and join us as we celebrate summer, 2009!

Open Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., (closed on holidays) DAC's Senior Citizen Center provides a daily well-balanced lunch, where Seniors can gather, fellowship over a meal and participate in the day's activities.

Transportation is provided. For pick-up to the Center, Seniors must call a day in advance to schedule their ride.

ASL Class Schedule 2008 -2009: Instructor: Linda Fenske. Beginning, Intermediate & Advanced level six-weeks courses are slated to begin on the following dates:
