Information and Referral

Each year we respond to thousands of phone calls requesting information about services, available locally and nationwide, in such areas as deafness, sign language, hearing health care, hearing aids, employment, assistive technology and problem solving.

DAC has a referral list of local and nationwide agencies, organizations, local support groups, and programs throughout the state.

Below are some of the questions DAC receives;

 Where can I learn Sign Language?

What is the difference between a cochlear implant and hearing aids?

What is a tuition waiver?

I notice my mother does not always seem to hear me?

I am having problems hearing on the phone?

How do I become a Certified Interpreter?

How can I call some one with a hearing loss?

How can I get a DART bus card?

We have a deaf employee and he is requesting an interpreter for staff meetings?

Help, I may lose my job?

My child is struggling in class.  Could he have a hearing loss?

Call 214-521-0407 if you have questions about services, volunteer opportunities, support groups or donations.
